Bro. Matthew Fancher (pictured with his wife Leigh Anne) is our Associate Pastor and Minister of Youth. He is a 2005 graduate of Ole Miss, and is currently attending Mid-America Southern Baptist Seminary in Cordova. He loves our youth, and is an exciting teacher.

In Acts 9:2 believers were referred to as belonging, "to the Way." Also, in John 14:6 Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." In these two verses we pick up on an awesome truth. We see "THE WAY" to peace with God, lasting joy, and eternal life. Often we hear a preacher say, "Is there a point in your life that you can go back to that you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior?" This is really a faulty question. The Bible says in 1 John 2:3, "By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments." You see the way that we know if we really have peace with God and belong to "the Way" is if we are walking in obedience to Him (This is not how we come to belong to "the Way" but how we know that we are of "the Way). The Christian life is not about having a point in our life to go back to. It is about daily walking with our Lord.

The OFBC youth ministry is about encouraging Christians to walk in "the Way." That is not to have an experience to go back to but it is a daily experience with our Lord. If you want to learn how to better walk with the Lord this is the place for you or if you want to learn how to belong to "the Way" then this is the place for you also. The passion of our church and our youth ministry is to exalt the name of Jesus. As Philippians 2:9-10 states, "For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW." We invite you to come and join us in our quest to walk in "the Way"!
